Living in Eureka! means living amidst greenery. The car-free design of the neighborhood creates ample space for high-quality, biodiverse green infrastructure. While residential development is steadily progressing, the layout of the public space is also being actively shaped.

MTD Landscape Architects has developed a planting plan for Eureka! that contributes year-round to a healthy, climate-adaptive living environment with strong experiential value.

A significant portion of the existing trees will be preserved, giving the plan an immediately mature and green character. Although not all existing trees can be retained due to construction and spatial reorganization, this is amply compensated through the planting of new trees in various species, sizes, and growth forms. In addition, multi-stemmed shrubs are introduced at strategic locations to enhance structure, layering, and seasonal dynamics.

In selecting tree and shrub species, careful attention was given to site conditions, distance to building facades, ecological value, species diversity, climate resilience, and spatial cohesion.

Of course, greenery extends far beyond the tree layer. The planting concept also includes lawns for recreation and play, flower-rich meadows, perennial borders, ferns, and ornamental grasses. These vegetation types not only enhance biodiversity, but also improve spatial perception and the visual comfort of the neighborhood. Climbing plants are incorporated at suitable locations within the parking courts.

Greenery is not limited to ground level. Where feasible, rooftops are to be planted with moss-sedum vegetation, contributing to stormwater retention, cooling, and improved air quality.
