MTD landscape architects designed this unique public meeting and resting place along the water and also provided aesthetic supervision during the construction phase. The design includes a new staircase, a wooden deck, and a seating element referencing the historical crane once used to load and unload ships that docked here to trade fish. Additionally, the deck holds potential as a future boarding point for Binnendieze canal tours.
The design by MTD landscape architects brings new life to one of the city's historically busiest trading spots – the Vismarkt. The project was officially opened by the alderman, who arrived by boat via the Binnendieze, passing under the Visstraat, and moored at the new landing at the head of the Brede Haven.
We thank our client, the Municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch, contractor Nico de Bont, and consultant NAP Adviseurs for the excellent collaboration.
