On behalf of the Municipality of Roermond, MTD landscape architects is working on a conceptual design and redevelopment plan for Wilhelminaplein in Roermond. The aim is to enhance the square’s cultural and historical significance—situated adjacent to the city’s fortifications and the Venlosepoort. At the same time, the square will be upgraded in terms of spatial quality, with a greener and more climate-resilient layout.
As a first step, MTD developed two design scenarios. Scenario 2—evoking the memory of the historic city wall—was embraced by residents, local businesses, and the Municipal Executive Board.
