On Thursday, October 31st, the first stone of the next phase of the Eureka! project was laid together with Alderman Eddie Förster of the Municipality of Breda. This festive event was organized by the development partnership Maas-Jacobs and NBU, in the presence of future residents of this unique residential area comprising over 300 homes. The urban design concept was created several years ago by MIX architects and MTD landscape architects. MIX further developed the architecture, while MTD designed the landscape for this green, car-free neighborhood.
Alderman Eddie Förster highlighted the strengths of this high-density development, where public spaces have been freed from cars to make way for a climate-resilient and nature-inclusive environment. This benefits both future residents and the surrounding neighborhoods. Eureka! serves as an exemplary project that reflects the ambitions and goals of the Municipality of Breda, encapsulated in the slogan: 'City in a Park.'
