Madurodam, the amusement park that showcases ‘the most beautiful and best of the Netherlands’ in miniature, has opened a new section dedicated to the city of Rotterdam, featuring the iconic Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.
MTD Landscape Architects, in close collaboration with MVRDV, designed the rooftop forest on top of the building and the lush public gathering space surrounding the Depot. The rooftop forest, situated 32 meters above ground level, was awarded first prize by the 2020 Rooftop Revolution Awards.
It’s fantastic that a futuristic and sustainable urban development project like the Depot can now be experienced at Madurodam, bringing the project to the attention of a broad audience.
