A diverse selection of trees, including pines, birches, and walnut trees, combined with an underplanting of ornamental grasses and flowering perennials, forms a natural gateway to the airport. Beyond its aesthetic value, the greenery offers functional benefits: the trees provide cooling during summer and help capture fine dust particles, contributing to a healthier environment.
Additionally, a sustainable irrigation system is being implemented. The planting will be watered using harvested rainwater collected from the P3 parking garage, further optimizing water management at the airport.
With this project, Eindhoven Airport is improving the quality of its outdoor spaces while taking an important step towards a climate-resilient and nature-inclusive airport environment.
