Starting on November 10th, MTD Landscape Architects spent one week in Jiangsu Province, China, as part of a mission organized by the Province of Noord-Brabant. The delegation from Noord-Brabant consisted of a mix of politicians, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and representatives from educational institutions and museums.
The program was organized to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Jiangsu-Brabant Sister-Province Relationship and to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two provinces. This MOU outlines a commitment to strengthening cooperation in sustainable development and addressing global social challenges.
In this context, MTD Landscape Architects joined the mission to represent Brabant in the field of sustainable urbanism and landscape architecture and to explore potential partnerships in Jiangsu Province.
The team had an incredibly enriching week, meeting with remarkable design, engineering, and landscaping organizations in the cities of Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, and Jiangyin. And also visited some of the newest urban development projects in this region of China, alongside breathtaking ancient gardens and parks.
The meetings and site visits revealed clear potential for collaboration between MTD Landscape Architects and local parties. The added value of MTD Landscape Architects for the Chinese market lies in our decades of experience and expertise, which can enhance the impact of design and implementation. Opportunities are particularly evident in areas such as ecological impact, climate adaptation solutions, design of roof landscapes, concept development, and the creation of iconic landmarks.
We look forward to the next steps in Jiangsu Province and extend our gratitude to the Province of Noord-Brabant for including MTD Landscape Architects in this mission.
